On November 19, the COVID-19 Community Task Force members met to communicate changes to county restrictions to be implemented in an effort to control rising COVID-19 case numbers in Bartholomew County.

Dr. Jim Roberts with Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) stated that BCSC would be extending e-learning through Tuesday, December 22, 2020, the last instructional day before the scheduled Winter Break, with a planned return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. A statement by BCSC may be found at http://www.bcscschools.org.

Additionally, Dr. Brian Niedbalski, County Health Officer, announced that new restrictions on occupancy in restaurants, bars, nightclubs, bowling alleys and gyms will be enacted beginning Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 12:00 noon. Details about these new restrictions may be found at http://bartholomew.in.gov/emergency-management.

During this crucial time and surge in positivity rates in our area, residents are encouraged to take every precaution possible to limit community spread. The COVID-19 Community Task Force has launched a “Mask Up Columbus” campaign. A shareable PSA, social media content, printable flyers and more information is available at http://covid19communitytaskforce.org/mask-up-columbus.
